Any wood carving, both finished and unfinished, can be purchased as an unfinished carving.
These unfinished wood carvings are great for those interested in learning the craft. The completed carving can be added to, or changed in any way you like. Then, the unfinished carving should be stained and/or painted, and finished with a ploycrylic finish to make them long lasting.
NOTE: The use of only water based stain, acrylic paint or water based ployacrylic is suggested. These finishing agents are odorless and are easy to clean up. If you would like to try wood carving as a delightfully enjoyable hobby, we suggest you use only professional grade, quality carving tools. We can offer suggestions as where to find good carving tools if you send us an email at: kathy@happycrochet.com. We also suggest that care is taken while wood carving. Be careful, not careless! We also know of very good wood carving web sites for the beginner that we can direct your attention to.
